Portable cell phone booth

This might not be something you would usually use when making calls to friends but might come handy if content of phone call is more sensitive. Anyway, if you are left to wonder what this all is about, I might explain little bit of this whole thing.

"The Portable Cellphone Booth" is project of Nick Rodrigues, Sculptor from 2002. You can see video about whole thing at http://www.cowboygirlproductions.com/cellphone.html or read some more about it from web: http://www.nickrodrigues.com/art/phoneBooth.html + http://wirelesswatch.jp/2005/01/04/portable-cell-phone-booth/ etc.

What is portrait?

The very notion of the portrait, be it a painting or a photograph, promises the viewer a glimpse to someone´s persona, maybe soul even. A succesful portrait is often considered to be able to compress something essential about it´s subject into a single image. It is not a surprise that photography has been believed to be able to steal the soul.

This is part of text written by Hannu Karjalainen, one of photographers in the Helsinki School.
