Overnight success takes a long time…
Overnight success takes a long time. To quote Daft Punk - work it harder, make it better, do it faster, makes us stronger, more than ever, hour after hour, our work is never over.

Are you optimistic at all about how this financial crisis is going to play out?
I'm on the record having said this is unlike other crises, and it's the most serious crisis we've faced and it will have long-term repercussions. It's the end of an era, and there will have to be major adjustments. Those who expect that we will return to business as usual don't understand what's happening.
“Whitespace,” or “negative space” is the space between elements in a composition. More specifically, the space between major elements in a composition is “macro whitespace.” Micro whitespace, is—yes, you’ve guessed it—the space between smaller elements: between list items, between a caption and an image, or between words and letters.
The very notion of the portrait, be it a painting or a photograph, promises the viewer a glimpse to someone´s persona, maybe soul even. A succesful portrait is often considered to be able to compress something essential about it´s subject into a single image. It is not a surprise that photography has been believed to be able to steal the soul.

Today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality. Nikola Tesla, Modern Mechanics and Inventions, July, 1934

Hope is what led a band of colonists to rise up against an empire; what led the greatest of generations to free a continent and heal a nation; what led young women and young men to sit at lunch counters and brave fire hoses and march through Selma and Montgomery for freedom's cause. Hope is what led me here today--with a father from Kenya, a mother from Kansas; and a story that could only happen in the United States of America. Hope is the bedrock of this nation; the belief that our destiny will not be written for us, but by us; by all those men and women who are not content to settle for the world as it is; who have courage to remake the world as it should be.
BARACK OBAMA, speech, Jan. 3, 2008
I'm not sure about it.
We can learn a lot by studying Apple and Google and 37 Signals, but in the end, we have to come up with something unique.
I stand by a belief that simplicity will keep you happy in the long run. I currently keep the bare minimum furniture in a very modest house, try to keep the walls mostly free of clutter and make sure there is plenty of open space. Spartan living in a nutshell (the kids seem to love it as well, plenty of room for them to run and jump off of anything!).
Certainly interesting way to thinking about life.
